Just a few FAQ's about Family, Senior & Kids Sessions

Frequently Asked Questions {family style}And LOA Studios answers

What is your primary style? This should be your first and foremost question as this is the style of photography that interests you. For most family sessions and weddings we enjoy utilizing the natural light. We find the best background and lighting for your images and ask you interact with each other. We do coach you to move a little bit or guide you on things to do, but we do not “pose” you. We enjoy capturing your personalities and love for each other naturally. What should we wear?Especially for Moms, something that is comfortable, shows your personality and something you like yourself in. I know for me, my kids might look amazing in the picture, but if I don’t like my outfit or it doesn't fit right, those pictures are not making it to my walls! I will be sending you an idea guide with samples of outfits that might work well for your family. When you are choosing outfits for the family, don't try to be to matchy. We want to avoid having everyone in white shirts and jeans. We want to stay away from loud designs, neon colors and mismatched colors. You want to look for simple patterns, colors that are in the same color hue. Accessories and layers are great! Once we schedule your session, I will send you a few pictures to reference! If we are planning a newborn session, bring any outfit you want your little one to be in. We do try to get the sleepy naked pictures, but if we can not get the little one settled, we will put them in an outfit and finish up pictures. Don't forget to bring the blanket that your Grandma made or the first outfit you bought!! Those are great things for a newborn to wear.photographers in lake arrowheadCan we at least get one of the kids alone?YES! When we do a family session, we typically try to do the entire family together, Mom and the kids and then Dad and the kids, just the kids, each kid alone and then mom and dad together. That is my goal, but it does not always happen. It takes the kids a little bit to warm up to me, then we will go through the images listed above. Then we will have time to play and do silly combinations. I'm always capturing candid pictures during the family sessions. Most of the time, parents are not even aware of this.photographers in lake arrowheadCan we work around nap time?Yes, we can work around nap time. However, the most flattering light for your session is going to be earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon. If we need to do them midday, I do have extra light I can bring and we will find the best shade. However the best natural light is early or later in the day.photographers in running springsDo you have any props?I'm always on the lookout for more props! I have a variety of things from lemonade stands to baskets for newborns. If there is something specific you have in mind, please let me know. If you prefer to bring something of your own, we will do our best to include it in your session. We will need a treat to bribe our kids, what should we bring? If you would like to bring a small snack for the little ones you are welcome to do so. Often parents bring puffs, or little fruit snacks. I often bring something to bribe older kids. I would just stay away from anything chocolate or anything that has a dye in it. Those tend to make a mess when the kids are eating them.outside family photographersWhat forms of payment are accepted?Cash, check or we can send you an invoice through Square, in which you are able to use a credit card. How soon after the session will our images be available?A sneak peek will be up on my blog within a week. I will be posting more of my favorites on my social media site within two weeks and finally all your images will be up on my website for you, your friends and family to view within 2 1/2 - 3 weeks from the date of the session.SaveSave
